The Fascial system is the highly conductive, fluid, and  supportive tissue in a healthy state. It has a continuous, uninterrupted, 3-Dimension web-like manner which extends throughout the entire body from the cellular level of every bone, muscle, nerve, tendon, and organ.


Trauma, surgery, stress, inflammation, physical/postural and emotional patterns can create restrictions that impair the fluidity and support of fascia. These restriction can place 2000 pounds per square inch of pressure causing compressions, limited mobility, pain, decreased neural transmission, decrease organ efficiency, poor circulation of blood and lymph, and  decreased function. 


Myofascial Release is a “hands-on” system of techniques to release these restrictions with the application of safe, low-load pressure, for a sustained period of time. This increases the viscous flow and piezoelectric phenomenon allowing softening and elongating of fascia, the  viscoelastic medium.

Yoga Session


Yoga’s history is thousands of years old! Around 500-200 BCE, the enigma, Sri Patanjali wrote The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali as a guideline of Yoga principles and discipline. He is credited for putting into a written form the philosophies which expounded a greater global awareness. There are 8 Classic Limbs of Yoga. At MYST Wellness, Joel focuses on three; asana/poses, pranayama/breath, and dharana/concentration. As your practice evolves, you may be pulled to learn the other 5 Limbs. 


Most people are attracted to Yoga for the physical exercise, to heal an injury, or explore new movements. Joel’s culmination of teaching and anatomical knowledge really come through with safe, understandable, and highly effective sequences. You will feel the difference as he leads you to explore stretches that allow the fascia to release and the meridians to flow. He shines a light on the purpose behind the poses with specific muscular and energetic engagements.


Yoga practice leads to changes on and off your mat. You’ll gain strength, flexibility, focus, a calmer mind, improved sleep, decreased stress, mental clarity/wellness, and improved organ health that will bring more peace and presence to your life.
